Separating dimers from monomers with further isolation of established chemicals such as Vanillin, Guaiacol, Cresol, and other functional aromatics.

A dense blend of aromatic oligomers: larger molecules that remain partially intertwined. Solid at room temperature but melts when heated and easily dissolves in most of organic solvents. It behaves similarly to a viscous tar and provides a promising base for material innovation. While further development will be required, we see strong potential for Heavy Oil to form the foundation of novel coatings, adhesives, lubricants, and other materials based on viscous polymeric chemistries.
